* ARREST* Local Priorities Violence against women and girls Concern Update

I wanted to provide an update regarding Violence against women and girls, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

This morning, my team were made aware of a male that had been verbally aggressive and threatening towards women in and around Crystal Palace, and had assaulted a woman on a bus in Penge.

Within 3 hours of the notification, we had identified a suspect and have made an arrest. The male is currently in custody and associated enquiries are continuing.

We will not stand for violence towards women and girls.
